Those are the finishing places of the PWHO Gladiators, Knights, and Warriors basketball teams at this year’s district and regional tournament. The Gladiators took 4th place, losing games to the Kenosha Blue and the Walworth Newcomers. The Knights took 2nd place by defeating the Lakeland Lightning but falling to the St. Coletta Bobcats. They did not get selected in the lottery drawing to advance to the regional tournament. The Warriors beat the YMCA Bucks and the Walworth Eagles to take 1st place and advance to the regional tournament, where they defeated the NS Wild Bunch but came up short against the Walworth Newcomers to take 2nd place. They were not selected in the lottery drawing to advance to the state tournament, so PWHO’s Team Basketball season came to an end. As Gladiators’ center Adam C. said, “We played our best and that’s what’s important.”
A lottery drawing was held to determine which two Basketball Skills competitors would advance to the state tournament (because their tournament was cancelled). Shaun K. and Kelsey O. will represent PWHO at state competition on April 9th at UW-Oshkosh. Good luck to them both!
