2010 Bocce Ball District Tournament
The District Tournament was held on July 10th at Wick Field in Milwaukee. PWHO sent 5 teams to the tournament, in an effort to qualify for the State Tournament. We had many wins and some losses, but once again everyone had a great time.
Anthony Avengers
The Anthony Avengers started the day with a game against the N.S. Peacocks. They won the game, 14 to 13. In their second game against the Tosa Tossers, they lost with a score of 16 to 10. Overall the team came in second place at the tournament in their division.
Bocce Ballers
The Bocce Ballers started the day with a game against the N.S. Falcons. They lost the game, 12 to 9. In their second game against the TTI Blazers, they won with a score of 15 to 4. Overall the team came in third place at the tournament in their division.
Bradford Beauties
The Bradford Beauties started the day with a game against the Hedgehogs, winning with a score of 16 to 3. In their second game against the TTI Fire, they won again. Overall the team came in first place at the tournament in their division.
Hanson Hooligans
The Hanson Hooligans started the day with a game against the Red, White & Blues. They lost the game, 16 to 6. In their second game against the TM Tossers, they lost. Overall the team came in fourth place at the tournament in their division.
Sassy Steppers
The Sassy Steppers started the day with a game against the YMCA Rollers White. They lost the game, 15 to 6. In their second game against the Grasshoppers, they won with a score of 15 to 3. Overall the team came in third place at the tournament in their division.
In order to qualify for the State Tournament a team had to come in first to automatically qualify or else have one win to be entered into a drawing for additional spots at the State Tournament. We would like to congratulate the Bradford Beauties (Liz, Janet, Jeffrey, (need name) on qualifying for the tournament. The Anthony Avengers (Greg, Richard, Marcus, and Toby) and the Bocce Ballers (Sarah, Jennifer, Karen, and Meredith) also qualified for the tournament through the drawing.
